So this playthrough is a revisit of my opinions, in the hopes that having encountered bad voice acting in other media since then, I might be able to look back more charitably. There was also something about how I had no idea what was going on plot-wise, a trend which carried over into DXIW.
It's been long enough since the last time I played that all I remember of DX is the absolutely horrendous voice acting, which overshadowed anything good that the game might have had otherwise. Reverse chronological order (for some reason): DXIW, DX, DXHR (I can while away the time until then with Space Marine, or any of my other unfinished games, or indeed by the week-long Reservist training I have to go to starting Monday.) The options I'm thinking now are: What I'm planning is a playthrough of all three games in some order that I hope to figure out by the time I start. Anyway, since I can't actually find these discs now, I got the games again on Steam. I actually own both Deus Ex and Deus Ex: Invisible War on physical discs, and it is a sort of odd nostalgia-memory that I could not play DXIW when I first bought it because my computer wasn't good enough, whereas by the time I finally got around to playing it my computer may have been too good to run it properly.
With DXHR going on 50% sale on Steam, I finally picked it up (along with Space Marine), and the Deus Ex collection while I was at it.
